Kentuck Announces Award Winners For 53rd Festival
The Kentuck Festival of the Arts this weekend awarded a total of $12,200 to exhibiting artists during its 53rd annual festival.

NORTHPORT, AL — The Kentuck Festival of the Arts this weekend awarded a total of $12,200 to exhibiting artists during its 53rd annual festival, which was held for the very first time in Tuscaloosa's Snow Hinton Park.

Judges evaluated the work of artists based on criteria such as quality, originality, design, composition, technique, and overall presentation.

Luis Gutierrez, working in clay, took home the coveted Best in Show award, while Brenda Gordon and Robin Anne Cooper both received the Award of Distinction for their mixed-media works.

The judging panel, featuring Gilda McDaniel and Teresa Hollingsworth, were also both recognized for their contributions to the arts.
