Kentuck says the program also offers young children and their parents the opportunity to explore various art forms in a single class, helping to develop key early-life skills.

The nonprofit also said funding from the grant will allow the previously fixed tuition for the program to shift to a pay-what-you-can model from July 2025 through June 2026, with the new payment model is geared toward expanding access to families across the greater Tuscaloosa area.

“By removing the cost barriers to participation, Tuscaloosa children of all backgrounds will have access to the developmental benefits of multi-arts instruction,” Kentuck Art Center Arts Education Assistant Samantha Wolf, arts education assistant at Kentuck Art Center. “Early arts education develops social, motor, spatial, and language skills and leads to better outcomes for children in our community.”

Kentuck Art Center said advance registration for "Imagination In Motion" is still required, as class sizes are limited to 10 students.

Classes will be held at Kentuck Queen City, located at 1901 Jack Warner Parkway, on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.

Kentuck will provide all supplies for participants, including aprons for adult participants.
