Leadership Tuscaloosa To Dedicate New Basketball Court, Pavilion At New Heights Community Resource Center

The Leadership Tuscaloosa Class of 2024-25​ will dedicate a new basketball court and pavilion at the New Heights Community Resource Center.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Leadership Tuscaloosa Class of 2024-25 will dedicate a new basketball court and pavilion at the New Heights Community Resource Center on Aug. 27.

The project — dubbed New Hoops 4 New Heightswill be dedicated at a 10 a.m. ceremony at the center.

The New Heights center is a collaborative facility in West Alabama that houses multiple organizations to provide services in education, homelessness prevention, youth programming, mental health and health care.

The event will include refreshments, photo opportunities and recognition of donors, community partners and elected officials who supported the effort.

“This project is about more than building a basketball court and pavilion — it’s about creating a lasting place for youth and families to gather, connect and grow,” class member and project spokesperson Karen Burklew said.
