The investor group previously developed the Captain’s Club on Lake Tuscaloosa, which is located within the NorthRiver Yacht Club community.
Despite the change in ownership, the new owners said Troon will continue to oversee daily operations and management of the NorthRiver Yacht Club, with an emphasis on maintaining high standards of service and enhancing member experiences.

“We are honored to take on the stewardship of NorthRiver, a place that means so much to our families and this community,” Turner said in a statement on behalf of the new ownership group. “Our vision is to build upon the incredible traditions of this club, investing in its future and enhancing the experiences that make NorthRiver truly special.”

Troon has owned and managed the NorthRiver Yacht Club since 2017 and will remain an active partner.
“NorthRiver Yacht Club is a jewel of Tuscaloosa, and we are excited to continue working alongside the new ownership group,” said David Stinson, Troon’s vice president of operations.
Founded in 1978 by Tuscaloosa businessman Jack Warner, NorthRiver Yacht Club features championship golf, tennis, pickleball, aquatics, dining and fitness facilities, as well as a busy social calendar.
