The deposition says messages from the child's cellphone indicate Carter gave her specific instructions on how to make the videos and paid her for the videos through Cash App — a mobile online direct payment system.

Additionally, investigators obtained records from Cash App and found the account that paid the minor for the videos and the phone number connected to the account belonged to Carter, who was living in Los Angeles, California, at the time.

The deposition also said the cellphone number connected to the account was provided by Carter to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) during his registration as a sex offender.

Carter was taken into custody by members of LAPD's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force and extradited to Alabama, where he was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail on Nov. 25.

In accordance with Aniah's Law, Carter was denied bond on the human trafficking charge, while his total bond was set at $20,000 for the other three felony charges.
