Man Charged With Attempted Murder After Sheffield Court Shooting

A 63-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in the 3700 block of Sheffield Court on Wednesday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A 63-year-old man has been charged with attempted murder following a shooting in the 3700 block of Sheffield Court Tuesday afternoon.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said police responded to the scene around 3 p.m. Tuesday and found a victim had been shot.

The victim was then transported to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment for injuries not believed to be life-threatening.

The suspect, identified as Henry Eford, was detained at the scene.

Kennedy said following interviews with numerous witnesses and further investigation, Eford was charged with attempted murder and has been booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail with no bond.

He went on to say the shooting occurred during a verbal argument between Eford and the victim.
