Marion Man Killed Friday In Hale County Crash

A Marion man is dead following a multi-vehicle crash Friday a few miles south of Moundville.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Marion man is dead following a multi-vehicle crash Friday a few miles south of Moundville.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says the fatal crash occurred at approximately 11:25 p.m. Friday, Jan. 12, on Alabama Highway 69 when the 1998 Honda Accord he was driven by Ja’Quan D. Brooks, 24, left the roadway, re-entered the roadway and struck the 2015 Honda Accord driven by a man from Sawyerville.

ALEA then said that after the initial collision, the Accord struck a 2001 International tractor-trailer driven by a man from Marion Junction.

Troopers said Brooks was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene, which was approximately six miles south of Moundville in Hale County.
