McCalla Man Arrested For Making Terroristic Threats Against DCH

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A McCalla man has been charged with marking terrorist threats against DCH Regional Medical Center Saturday afternoon.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department said Saturday night that Jeffrey Chase Jones, 35, sent messages threatening violence against hospital staff along with images of weapons to the hospital system’s accounts.

As Patch previously reported, TPD said officers responded at 2 p.m. and conducted a thorough search of the facility. This also included a coordinated effort with the Northport Police Department to ensure safety measures were in place at the health system's Northport location.

TPD’s Criminal Investigations Division eventually identified Jones as the suspect and, along with members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force, located Jones and took him into custody in
Bessemer around 7 p.m. Saturday

Jones is charged with first-degree making terroristic threats, which is a Class C felony.

His bond has not been set by a judge as of the publication of this story.
