TUSCALOOSA, AL — The University of Alabama’s Moundville Archaeological Park will host the 37th annual Moundville Native American Festival Oct. 9-11, celebrating the history and traditions of Indigenous peoples connected to Alabama.
The three-day event will feature Native American dancers, storytellers, crafters, artists and food vendors. Organizers said guests can sample traditional dishes and regional favorites, including the festival staple — fry bread-style “Indian tacos.”
“We are excited to introduce a new painting, ‘Falama,’ or ‘to return,’ by Chickasaw artist Jenny L. Davis,” festival director Jessica Dees said. “In celebration of this artwork, the festival will also feature raptor shows by Raptor Ridge Wildlife Education.”
