No Arrests Yet, No Threat To Public After Body Found At Tuscaloosa AA
Police say there is no threat to the public after a man's body was found at the Tuscaloosa Alcoholics Anonymous clubhouse earlier this week.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit have yet to make an arrest after a man's body was found sometime Tuesday at the Alcoholics Anonymous clubhouse off of Jack Warner Parkway.

As Patch previously reported, the victim was identified Russell Thomas Andrews, 62.

Despite the lack of an arrest as of the publication of this story, Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, insisted that there was no threat to the public and that the suspect was not believed to be in the Tuscaloosa County area at this time.
"[Andrews] was a client or a participant in that program, a long-term client," Kennedy said. "He was found deceased there and it was determined his death was the result of foul play."

Patch previously reported that investigators were searching for a person of interest last seen Monday night around 10 p.m., with Kennedy saying the suspect is believed to be an unidentified man homeless man who had reportedly been in the Tuscaloosa area for some time.
"There's very little I'm going to release about that but that the case is actively being investigated right now," Kennedy said Thursday. "We earlier released information on a possible person of interest and we've had a lot of calls about that."
Kennedy said the man is described as a white male, approximately 50 years of age, with dark hair and dark eyes. He is approximately 5β11" tall and weighs roughly 180 pounds.
"He wears glasses and often wears a soft hat of some sort," Kennedy said earlier in the week. "He may be missing toes on one or both feet and walks with a limp. The only name for the subject known so far is 'J.P.' The subject's last name may be βPatrick.β
