Nominations Open For 2024 Tuscaloosa County Civic Hall of Fame

TUSCALOOSA, AL β The Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama is currently taking nominations for The Tuscaloosa County Civic Hall of Fame's Class of 2024.

The Chamber says the Civic Hall of Fame seeks to honor exceptional citizens who have made significant, long-term contributions to the overall growth, development and betterment of Tuscaloosa County and its communities.

The committee in charge of the nominations says proper nominees are those who made contributions to the civic, social, religious or political growth of Tuscaloosa outside of his or her career responsibilities.
The Civic Hall of Fame has been in existence for 23 years, with 136 individuals being inducted such as former Alabama football coach Paul "Bear" Bryant, Snow Hinton, McDonald Hughes, Frank Moody, Munny Sokol and Maude Whatley.

The Chamber says honorees will be inducted at a ceremony later in the year.
Last year's class included Christine S. Coleman, Beverly βBevβ M. Leigh III, Dr. Pamela H. Parker and Ellen W. Potts.
The deadline for nominations is June 1.
