Northport Man Jailed For Animal Cruelty
NPD has arrested a man following an investigation into the deaths of six dogs found at a residence on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport Police Department (NPD) has arrested a man following an investigation into the deaths of six dogs found at a residence on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard earlier this month.

NPD Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter told local media Tuesday morning that police obtained three arrest warrants for Letitus Demond Gay, 40, on Monday, charging him with cruelty to dogs or cats in the first degree.

Carpenter said the investigation began after investigators received an initial report of the deceased animals at around 12:38 p.m. on Aug. 7.
Gay was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail Monday, with his bond set at $7,500.
