Northport Native Justin Hamner Wins 2024 Bassmaster Classic

NORTHPORT, AL β€” Northport native and Tuscaloosa County High School graduate Justin Hamner on Sunday finished as the champion of the prestigious 2024 Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Classic.

Held at the Grand Lake O' the Cherokees in Oklahoma and less than a week removed from his 33rd birthday, Hamner finished with a three-day total of 58 pounds, 3 ounces for the tight win.

According to his Bassmaster profile, Hamner has been a professional angler for two years, citing his signature strengths as jerk bait and LiveScope.

For his other career highlights, Hamner earned a spot in the Bassmaster Elite Series lineup for 2021 via the Opens and logged two Top 15 finishes at the Tennessee River and Lake Champlain.

He also finished second in the Rookie of the Year standings in 2021.

Hamner and his wife, Christina, have one child, Scarlett.
