Northport Officials Unveil Improvements To Civitan Building, Break Ground On Main Avenue Streetscape Project

NORTHPORT, AL — The City of Northport celebrated two major milestones Thursday with the reopening of the renovated Civitan Building and the groundbreaking of the Main Avenue Streetscape Project.

Festivities began with a ribbon-cutting at the Civitan Building, which city officials said honors the history and impact of the Civitan Club in the community.

A rendering of the streetscape project was also unveiled, followed by a ceremonial groundbreaking.

City Council President Christy Bobo praised the projects for balancing heritage with progress.

“These two projects greatly demonstrate how preserving our past propels us into Northport’s beautiful future,” Bobo said. “We are grateful to the Northport Civitans for their partnerships in keeping the Civitan Club alive and to the partnership with TTL on the Main Avenue Streetscape Project.”

The Main Avenue project is designed to improve connectivity and revitalize a key corridor in the city.

“It is our honor to break ground on the Main Avenue Streetscape Project,” City Administrator Glenda Webb said. “This investment represents our commitment to revitalization, connectivity and the future of our community.”
