Northport Police Identify Tuscaloosa Woman Killed In Multi-Vehicle Crash

The Northport Police Department on Thursday identified a Tuscaloosa woman killed in a four-vehicle crash on Highway 43.

NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport Police Department on Thursday identified a Tuscaloosa woman killed in a four-vehicle crash on Highway 43.

NPD Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter said 36-year-old Vonchelle Renee Gamble was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after noon on Wednesday.

As Patch previously reported, the four-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 12:39 p.m. in the southbound lanes of Highway 43 near the intersection with Highway 171.

Carpenter said three others were treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the fatal accident is being investigated by NPD's Traffic Reconstruction Unit.
