Northport, Junior League Proclaim Sept. 19 As 'International Find the Good Day'

The City of Northport on Monday designated Sept. 19 as International Find the Good Day as a way to support the Junior League of Tuscaloosa.

NORTHPORT, AL — The City of Northport on Monday designated Sept. 19 as International Find the Good Day as a way to support the Junior League of Tuscaloosa’s mission to promote positivity and resilience in the community.

“This day is a reminder of the power of unity and positive change,” City Council President Christy Bobo said. “By focusing on the good, we can make a meaningful difference in our community and beyond. We are proud to celebrate the work of the Junior League of Tuscaloosa and stand with the organization as they lead the community in their efforts.”

Members of the nonprofit, including Junior League of Tuscaloosa President Shanna McIntosh, attended the meeting to accept the honor.

“International Find the Good Day is a wonderful opportunity to highlight the positive impact we can have when we come together as a community,” McIntosh said. “We are thrilled to see the City of Northport supporting this cause and encouraging residents to join us in fostering an environment of optimism and resilience.”

Junior League organizations on Sept. 19 will host events and raise awareness to encourage people to find the good within themselves, their communities and the world.

During this time, the Junior League of Tuscaloosa will launch its Period Pantry initiative on this day, which aims to provide feminine hygiene products to local women in need.

Residents are encouraged to contribute by donating items, as detailed on the Junior League’s website.
