Officials Launch Job Kiosks At Six Tuscaloosa County High Schools
The new initiative will introduce kiosks in six Tuscaloosa County high schools, allowing students to view and apply for local job openings.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa County Commission and West AlabamaWorks! are gearing up to launch the I.G.N.I.T.E. kiosk program, which aims to help high school students connect with local job opportunities directly from their schools.

I.G.N.I.T.E. stands for Integrity, Gratitude, Never Give Up, Initiative, Timeliness and Enthusiasm.

The new initiative will introduce kiosks in six Tuscaloosa County high schools, allowing students to view and apply for local job openings with ease.
The program is designed to simplify the job search process and enhance employment access for local students.

“The I.G.N.I.T.E. Student jobs portal provides unparalleled opportunities for the next generation of workers, and now we’re bringing these opportunities directly to the students,” Tuscaloosa County Probate Judge Rob Robertson said. “After recognizing a workforce gap during COVID, I approached West AlabamaWorks! about this concept, and they ran with it, exceeding every expectation.”
A press conference to officially launch the I.G.N.I.T.E. kiosk program will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 1:30 p.m. at Hillcrest High School and will feature remarks from Executive Director of West AlabamaWorks! Donny Jones, Robertson, County Commissioner Mark Nelson and Hillcrest Principal Jeff Hinton.
