Carpenter said the accident was in the westbound lanes and involved a tractor-trailer, a 2003 Ford Mustang and a 2007 Honda Accord.
"The preliminary investigation indicates that the Ford Mustang was exiting from Green Village Trailer Park onto McFarland Boulevard and was struck by the tractor-trailer traveling west on McFarland Boulevard," Carpenter said.

He then said the driver of the Mustang — 59-year-old Anthony Allen of Northport — was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The tractor-trailer then collided with the Honda Accord that was also traveling west on McFarland Boulevard," Carpenter said. "The driver and a passenger in the Honda Accord sustained minor injuries. The fatality accident is being investigated by Northport Police Department Traffic Reconstruction Unit."
Carpenter said no criminal charges are pending at this time.
