A Northport woman was killed early Sunday morning after being struck by a vehicle on U.S. Highway 82.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 12:40 a.m. Sunday, when 35-year-old Ashley N. Jarrell was struck by a 2019 Toyota Camry driven by a Tuscaloosa resident.

ALEA said Jarrell was pronounced dead at the scene, roughly three miles east of Tuscaloosa.
The fatal crash remains under investigation.
