The Tuscaloosa Police Department says the 23-year-old woman's condition is not currently considered life-threatening.

TPD said the incident occurred around 8:40 p.m. in the 2100 block of McFarland Boulevard East and the driver involved stopped and remained at the scene.

Westbound lanes of McFarland Boulevard were closed for about two hours as traffic was rerouted while officers from the TPD Traffic Homicide Unit conducted their investigation.

The woman is a Tuscaloosa resident and was still receiving treatment at DCH Regional Medical Center as of Tuesday morning.

The cause of the incident remains under investigation.
