TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Pritchard man has been identified as a pedestrian who was struck and killed on Highway 11 in Greene County early Monday morning.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports that Eddie J. Winters, 59, was walking in the roadway when he was fatally injured by a 2016 Toyota Avalon driven by a Tuscaloosa native.

ALEA said Winters was struck by the vehicle at approximately 4:20 a.m. and pronounced dead at the scene, which was approximately two miles north of Eutaw.
The cause of the fatal incident remains under investigation.
