Pedestrian Struck And Killed Saturday Night In Northport

NPD is investigating a pedestrian who was struck and killed Saturday night in the 2000 block of Lurleen Wallace Boulevard

NORTHPORT, AL — The Northport Police Department is investigating a pedestrian who was struck and killed Saturday night in the 2000 block of Lurleen Wallace Boulevard.

NPD Assistant Chief Keith Carpenter told local media that a traffic accident was reported at approximately 8:30 p.m. in the northbound lanes involving a pedestrian and a vehicle.

He then identified the deceased pedestrian as Northport resident Willie Lewis Lott, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

Carpenter said the cause of the fatality accident is being investigated by NPD's Traffic Reconstruction Unit and no criminal charges are pending.
