Pedestrian Struck And Killed On Skyland Boulevard Thursday

The Tuscaloosa Police Department says a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Thursday night on Skyland Boulevard.

TUSCALOOSA< AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department says a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle and killed Thursday night on Skyland Boulevard.

TPD said Friday morning that officers, along with Tuscaloosa Fire and Northstar EMS, responded to the 200 block of Skyland Boulevard East at 8 p.m. to find a 22-year-old woman from Fosters was unresponsive.

The woman, who had reportedly been at a nearby laundromat with family members, was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center but was pronounced dead a short time later

TPD says the driver and passenger told investigators they were traveling west on Skyland Boulevard when the woman walked into the street at 8 p.m.

TPD’s Traffic Homicide Unit is conducting the follow-up investigation and the woman has not been publicly identified.
