Pickens County Woman Killed In Crash Near Gordo

A Carrollton woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash a few miles west of Gordo in Pickens County on Wednesday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A Carrollton woman is dead after a single-vehicle crash a few miles west of Gordo in Pickens County on Wednesday.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency says the crash occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, when the 2021 Chevrolet Equinox driven by 60-year-old Cynthia D. Wright left the roadway and struck a tree.

ALEA said Wright was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene on Alabama Highway 86, near the 21 mile marker.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
