TPD Releases Identity Of Tuscaloosa Woman Killed In Crash On 15th Street

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Police have identified a Tuscaloosa woman who died following a crash on 15th Street near Queen City Avenue Friday morning.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department says Marchema Deshannon Williams, 51, was pronounced dead at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, while the driver of the other vehicle involved was also treated for injuries.

As Patch previously reported, TPD said two vehicles were involved in the crash in the eastbound lanes of the 1700 block of 15th Street at 7:13 a.m.

Investigators said Williams was driving south on Queen City Avenue, crossing 15th Street, when the passenger side of her vehicle was struck by an eastbound vehicle.

TPD said the collision pushed her car over the curb into the parking lot of an auto parts store, where it struck an unoccupied vehicle.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
