Saban Center Announces Major Partnership With Westervelt Co.
The Saban Center on Wednesday announced a partnership with The Westervelt Company to promote initiatives in environmental education.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β The Saban Center on Wednesday announced a partnership with The Westervelt Company to promote initiatives in environmental education, research and outreach.

As part of the announcement, the Saban Center said the partnership with The Westervelt Company will also help teach guests about sustainable practices while igniting a passion for STEM-based learning.

The Westervelt Company will name the βEarth and Sustainability Galleryβ within the Saban Center, which will highlight the importance of environmental stewardship and conservation efforts.
βOur companyβs success depends on the responsible use of the Earthβs resources," Westervelt Company President and CEO Cade Warner said. "Thus it is a natural fit for Westervelt to partner with the Saban Center on the Earth and Sustainability Gallery.β

Warner then said that through this partnership, the company hopes to provide students with opportunities to explore STEM education, nurturing a holistic approach to learning that prepares them for success in an ever-evolving world.
βWe are uniquely positioned to be a partner of the Saban Center,β he said. βWith the goal of reaching out to and educating students, the Saban Center reflects our own commitment to education. Together we will harness the power of education and innovation to address pressing environmental issues and empower future generations to become stewards of our planet.β
Audrey Buck, director of the Saban Center, said it is a privilege to join forces with The Westervelt Company in the center's mission to create a dynamic and inclusive environment for learning and discovery
βTheir generous support and commitment to sustainability will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of STEM education in West Alabama and beyond," she said.
Warner said the strategic partnership not only marks a significant investment in advancing environmental education but will also underscore the shared commitment of both organizations to investing in the future of Tuscaloosa and the broader west Alabama community.
βWe are a 140-year-old company, and nearly a century of that has been here in Tuscaloosa," Warner said. "Over that time, we have become a part of the business landscape of the city, present for much of its storied history. We believe the Saban Center is the next step in elevating our hometown, and we feel very strongly that we must be a part of this next step."
As Patch previously reported, Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox revealed that design work is expected to be complete on the state-of-the-art educational facility by January 2025, followed by a groundbreaking that April.
The Saban Center is on track to open in June 2027.
