Saban Named Finalist For George Munger Coach of the Year Award

The Maxwell Football Club on Wednesday announced that Alabama head coach Nick Saban ​has been selected as a finalist for the the award.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Maxwell Football Club on Wednesday announced that Alabama head coach Nick Saban has been selected as a finalist for the George Munger Coach of the Year Award.

Other finalists for the award were David Braun (Northwestern), Kalen DeBoer (Washington), Mike Norvell (Florida State) and Steve Sarkisian (Texas).

Awarded to the top coach in college football each year, the award winner will be announced on Jan. 10.

The Alabama football program has had two coaches win the coveted honor: Gene Stallings in 1992 and Saban in 2016.

Saban led the Crimson Tide to a 12-2 record during the 2023 campaign, including a perfect 8-0 mark in the Southeastern Conference and a win over No. 1 Georgia for the program's 30th SEC championship.
