Salvation Army Collecting Donations For Those Displaced By Lennox Square Fire

Over 3o units were reportedly impacted, resulting in several families and individuals being displaced.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” The Salvation Army in Tuscaloosa is providing aid to those impacted by an apartment fire on Easter Sunday that impacted numerous families.

As Patch previously reported, four people were rescued and several apartment units were damaged at Lennox Square Apartments off Crescent Ridge Road.

The Salvation Army said over 30 units were affected, resulting in many families being displaced and left with no other alternative than to find other living accommodations while repairs move forward at the apartment complex.

The nonprofit said it is providing temporary shelter, food, and clothing, along with other basic needs.

"There are families who have lost everything," said Captain Michael Chisolm, commanding officer for The Salvation Army, stated. "We are using our resources to meet their immediate needs while working with our partners in the community to help them get back on their feet as quickly as possible."

Chisolm also asked those in the community to support those impacted by the fire.

"We know that Tuscaloosa cares and want to show that community spirit now to these families who desperately need help," he said.
