Shelton Pitcher Earns ACCC Honors After Throwing First Perfect Game In School History
Caleb Pittman's perfect game against Calhoun Community College on March 21 came after five innings in a 14-0 mercy rule win.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β Shelton State Community College freshman pitcher Caleb Pittman has been named the Alabama Community College Conference Athlete of the Week after throwing the first perfect game in school history.

A native of Hartselle and an Auburn signee out of high school, Pittman's perfect game against Calhoun Community College on March 21 came after five innings in a 14-0 mercy rule win.

Pittman tossed 61 pitches and retired all 15 batters he faced, logging six strikeouts, five ground outs and four fly outs. He threw 42 of those pitches for strikes and only faced three 3-ball counts.
With the win, Pittman became one of four college pitchers in the NCAA, NJCAA and NAIA to log a perfect game this season.

Shelton State (17-11, 10-2 ACCC) will return to action Tuesday night as the Bucs host Wallace Community College-Selma at 5 p.m.
