Skyland Boulevard Resurfacing Project To Begin Next Month
ALDOT announced Thursday that resurfacing work will begin on a 5.24-mile stretch of Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 7.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) announced Thursday that resurfacing work will begin on a 5.24-mile stretch of Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa on Sept. 7.

The project is expected to continue through late spring 2026.

The $6.89 million project, awarded to APAC-Alabama, will resurface U.S. Highway 11 between Alabama Highway 69 and Pleasant Hill Drive.
The road work also calls for extending left-turn lanes and making improvements at Hargrove Road, Palisades Drive and Cypress Creek Avenue.

ALDOT said all work will take place at night and in an effort to minimize disruptions, lane closures will not be permitted from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., or on Saturdays when the University of Alabama hosts home football games.
