SSCC Cosmetology To Host Back-To-School Cuts & Styles Event In August

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Shelton State Community College (SSCC) Cosmetology on Monday announced it will welcome the community to its special Back-to-School Cuts & Styles event on Aug. 5-6.

The event on the college's Martin Campus will offer haircuts, styles, simple braids, crocheting, and loc retwists.

Shelton State says the cosmetology salon will be open each day from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m., with appointments requested.

Those wishing to book an appointment can call (205) 391-2496.

SSCC also says its cosmetology salon offers services to the public and is open in the summer semester Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. for multiple services, including haircuts and manicures.

Walk-in customers are welcome but appointments are also requested for the salon's regular hours.

Shelton State says revenue generated by SSCC cosmetology services supports the functions of the salon and allows students to attend classes from product educators and participate in continuing education opportunities before entering the industry.
