Stillman Volleyball Stays Perfect At Home With Win Over Oakwood
Stillman College's women's volleyball team secured its second consecutive HBCU Athletic Conference victory on Tuesday by defeating Oakwood.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Stillman College's women’s volleyball team secured its second consecutive HBCU Athletic Conference victory on Tuesday by defeating Oakwood University 3-1 at Birthright Alumni Hall.

The win marks the Tigers' first against the Ambassadors since the program was reinstated in 2022 and improves Stillman to 3-7 overall and 2-1 in the HBCUAC.

What's more, Stillman boasts a 3-0 record at home for the first time in over 15 years.
The match began with a competitive first set, which Stillman clinched 25-22 before showcasing their strength by winning seven consecutive sets — a feat that has not been accomplished by the team since 2015.

Oakwood responded by taking the second set 25-21 before Stillman bounced back by winning the third set 25-12 and securing the match with a 25-22 victory in the fourth set.
Freshman Ava Cameron led Stillman’s offensive effort with 10 kills, while Katelyn Lawson and Paige Eason contributed seven kills each.
Raine Patterson added six kills in the winning effort and Aeraeonna Manuel chipped in five.
Kelis Conley also posted a season-high 21 assists and 10 digs, alongside Erin Nelson, who provided 14 assists on their way to setting a new program record for total assists with 41 since joining the NAIA.
On the defensive front, Emily Powell anchored the backline with 20 digs — her highest total against an HBCU Athletic Conference opponent this season — while Eason added 17.
The team’s 71 total digs are also the most recorded against a conference opponent since the program’s NAIA transition.
Stillman College (3-7, 2-1 HBCUAC) returns to action on Thursday when it hosts the University of West Alabama for "80s Night" at 6 p.m.
