The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) says Shaun M. Pearson, 60, was critically injured around 2 p.m. on Oct. 27 when the 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe he was driving left Alabama Highway 171 near Fernwood Drive, struck a ditch and overturned.

ALEA said Pearson was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment but died from his injuries on Friday.
Troopers then said the crash site is about seven miles northwest of the Northport city limits in Tuscaloosa County.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
