Suspect In Custody After Holding Woman Against Her Will At Tuscaloosa Motel

TPD says a man has been arrested after a woman said she was being held in a hotel room by a man who would not allow her to leave.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β€” The Tuscaloosa Police Department says a man has been arrested after a woman said she was being held in a hotel room by a man who would not allow her to leave.

TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor told local media Saturday afternoon that officers were called to the Old English Inn at 3100 University Blvd. E. at 11:37 a.m., with the calling saying she feared for her safety.

She then said the TPD SWAT team was called to the scene at 12:30 p.m. and attempted to communicate with the suspect. Officers then breached the door and took him into custody at 1:25 p.m. after he stopped responding.

Taylor said the woman was not injured.

Robert Hardin Eatmon, 60, of Tuscaloosa, is now charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment, with his bond set at $1.000.
