TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says one person suffered injuries not believed to be life-threatening after being shot during a dice game Friday night in Cottondale.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the multiagency unit, said the shooting occurred at 7225 Kyle Court at Cottondale Efficiency Apartments and the victim was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound.

Witnesses informed police that the shooting occurred during a dice game and the suspect fled the scene.

Kennedy said the shooting remains under active investigation and no arrests have been made at this time.
