TCSO K9 Annie Oakley Earns Prestigious 'Rookie Of The Year' Honors
Annie was recently awarded the "Rookie of the Year" award at the Kentucky Scent Trailing Air & Rescue Bloodhound seminar.

TUSCALOOSA, AL β Tuscaloosa County Sheriff's Office K9 Annie Oakley is barely a year old but she's already making a name for herself as a tenacious crime fighter with a nose for justice.

Named for the Wild West sharpshooter who became a legend for her marksmanship, the bloodhound first joined the sheriff's office in April 2023 as a 6-month-old puppy.

Annie was purchased from Bluegrass Bloodhounds in Leitchfield, Kentucky, thanks to a donation through the AKC Reunite program and a sponsorship from the Tuscaloosa Kennel Club.
Annie was barely on the job a month when she and her partner, Sgt. Randy McIntosh, tracked down and identified a suspect driver who fled from a traffic stop that involved a fatality.

TCSO says McIntosh and Annie were deployed 11 more times before she was a year old, resulting in nine captures.
To date, the dynamic crimefighting duo have logged 15 total deployments and 11 captures β three of which occurred in a 24-hour period.
For this successful effort, Annie was recently awarded the βRookie of the Yearβ award at the Kentucky Scent Trailing Air & Rescue Bloodhound seminar.
