Teen Arrested After Woman Injured Saturday In Tuscaloosa Shooting
An arrest has been made after a woman was injured in a shooting Saturday evening in the 4500 block of 18th Avenue in Tuscaloosa.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — An arrest has been made after a woman was injured in a shooting Saturday evening in the 4500 block of 18th Avenue in Tuscaloosa.

Captain Jack Kennedy, commander of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit, said Tuscaloosa Police were called around 5:30 p.m. on the call of a shooting and found a woman had suffered a wound to her head that was not believed to be life-threatening.

Kennedy said multiple people were detained and it was determined that a large argument had occurred between two groups of people.
"As one group was attempting to leave, their vehicle was surrounded, and then the vehicle was shot into multiple times," he said. "The vehicle was occupied by multiple persons, including the female that was struck, as well as a 1-month-old child that miraculously was not injured."

Kennedy said 19-year-old Deangelo Rancher was charged with attempted murder, first-degree assault, shooting into an occupied vehicle and attempted first-degree assault after investigators interviewed witnesses, viewed video and collected evidence.
Rancher was booked into the Tuscaloosa County Jail and his bond has not been set.
