Theatre Tuscaloosa Nets $23,000 In Grants To Fund Upcoming Season

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Theatre Tuscaloosa has received two grants totaling $23,000 to support its 2025–26 season, "Finding Home," and provide administrative assistance.

The grants from the Alabama State Council on the Arts will help fund a full slate of plays and musicals for the coming season, including productions of "Alabama Story" and "Big Fish."

Theatre Tuscaloosa officials said the state funding strengthens the organization’s mission to enhance quality of life in West Alabama through professional-level theatre and educational programming.
“With these funds, we're able to continue our mission of bringing high-quality productions and educational opportunities to our community,” Managing Director Adam Miller said. “With the completion of the Bean-Brown Theatre renovations on the Shelton State campus, this season marks an exciting new chapter for us. The funding helps us make the most of our new space and continue to grow.”

Theatre Tuscaloosa’s next production, "Scrooge! The Musical," will be presented Dec. 12–21 at the newly renovated Bean-Brown Theatre.
The holiday-themed production is partially funded by the Alabama State Council on the Arts.
Tickets are set to go on sale hereto flex-ticket holders Nov. 5 and to the public Nov. 12 or by calling (205) 391-2277.
