TUSCALOOSA, AL — A second-half goal from Kate Henderson boosted the Alabama soccer team (7-3-5, 0-1-5 SEC) to a 1-1 draw on the road against No. 14 Auburn on Thursday night.

The draw on Thursday marks only the third in the Iron Bowl of Soccer's history.

Henderson scored the first goal of the match in the 52nd minute, before Auburn responded seven minutes later with a goal on a converted penalty kick.

“I’m proud of our team’s effort and fight tonight against a very good Auburn side. Once again, we showed we are a tough team to beat,” Tide head coach Wes Hart said. “We just haven’t been able to do it consistently in a 90-minute game.”

Alabama goalkeeper Ellie Lanyi also provided standout defense in the draw by recording a career-high four saves, including one crucial stop that came in the final minutes.

Alabama will return to action at home against Texas A&M on Sunday, with kickoff set for 6 p.m.

The match will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
