Goalkeeper Ellie Lanyi also earned her first shutout in conference competition, making five saves in the win.

“Super proud of the team for their fight, grit, and persistence,” Alabama head coach Wes Hart said. “It would be easy to sit around and feel sorry for ourselves, but I thought the girls put that behind us and focused on today’s game. It looked like a team that was hungry for three points.”

When discussing the second half, Hart emphasized the focus placed on maintaining offensive pressure.

“Our message was to keep pressing for that next goal," he said. "Even though we didn't get another one, we created some of our best chances and played some of our best soccer of the season.”

Alabama will return to action on Friday when the Tide travels to Columbia, South Carolina, to take on the Gamecocks.

The match is set to begin at 6 p.m. local time and will be broadcast on SEC Network+.
