Tide's Jalen Milroe Named Finalist For William V. Campbell Trophy

TUSCALOOSA, AL — University of Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe on Wednesday was named among 16 finalists for the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes excellence on the field and in the classroom.

As a finalist for the prestigious award, Milroe will receive an $18,000 postgraduate scholarship when all finalists are honored on Dec. 10 at the 66th NFF Annual Awards Dinner at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas.

If selected as this year’s honoree, the scholarship will increase to $25,000.

Milroe is the seventh National Scholar-Athlete finalist from Alabama, joining a group that includes Johnny Musso (1971), Randy Hall (1974), Steadman Shealy (1979), DeMeco Ryans (2005), Greg McElroy (2010), and Barrett Jones (2012).

Jones, who was announced as Alabama representative on the 2024 SEC Legends Class, is the only Crimson Tide player to win the award.

Milroe is a two-time captain who has played a key role in leading Alabama to two College Football Playoff appearances and two Southeastern Conference championships.

The native of Katy, Texas, has racked up 66 total touchdowns during his career, throwing for 4,894 yards and 42 touchdowns while rushing for 1,181 yards and 24 scores.

Milroe graduated cum laude in December 2023 with a 3.52 GPA and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in sports management.
