Crimson Tide defensive lineman Tim Keenan III was named a Southeastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Crimson Tide defensive lineman Tim Keenan III was named a Southeastern Conference Player of the Week on Monday.

His standout performance in the Crimson Tide's win over South Florida on Sept. 7 was good enough to earn the junior from Birmingham SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week honors.

In the win over USF, Keenan recorded a career-high nine tackles, including 2.5 tackles for loss totaling 12 yards and 1.5 sacks for a loss of 10 yards.
His tackles for loss and sack totals are both career highs.

Keenan also led Alabama in both tackles for loss and sacks, finishing third in total tackles.
Keenan added one quarterback hurry, helping the Tide to a total of 10 hurries on the night.
This is the first time Keenan has received SEC Player of the Week honors and marks the third such award for the Crimson Tide this season.
The Crimson Tide will return to action Saturday on the road against Wisconsin, with kickoff set for 11 a.m. local time.
