Tom Beckbe Opening Outdoor Clothing And Gear Store In Tuscaloosa This Month

TUSCALOOSA, AL — A growing outdoor gear and apparel retailer has announced it will open a location near the University of Alabama campus in Tuscaloosa this month.

Tom Beckbe, with its flagship location in Mountain Brook, announced the expansion of its retail footprint with the opening of two new stores this fall, with plans for a location in Middleburg, Virginia.

“Expanding our retail presence in Virginia and Alabama is a significant milestone for us,” Tom Beckbe founder Radcliff Menge said. “We’re excited to bring our brand to new communities, where we can share our passion for quality craftsmanship and timeless design. These new locations will allow us to connect more directly with our customers and become apart of these storied regions.”
The new brick-and-mortar storefront will be location at 2427 University Boulevard — the former location of Subs-N-You and the Downtown Pub.

"Strategically located on the corner of University Boulevard in downtown Tuscaloosa, this new store is just a short distance from the University of Alabama, great hotels, and the city’s top restaurants," the retailer said in its announcement. "The Tuscaloosa store will cater to students, alumni, and sportsmen who enjoy the vast ecosystem stretching along Alabama’s western border to the Gulf of Mexico. With its proximity to the Black Warrior River, this store will offer the perfect blend of convenience and tradition."
The company also said the new locations will offer opportunities to host community events and further support their respective markets.
