TPD Identifies Brookwood Man Killed In Tuesday Evening Crash

TPD has identified a Brookwood man killed in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 55th Avenue East and Old Birmingham Highway.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Police have identified a Brookwood man who was killed in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 55th Avenue East and Old Birmingham Highway Tuesday evening.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department says the fatal crash occurred at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday when the driver of a Ford F150 crossed the center lane of traffic on Old Birmingham Highway and struck an oncoming Jeep Wrangler.

TPD went on to say that paramedics with Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue and Northstar EMS rendered aid to the driver of the F150, but the 53-year-old man died at the scene.

The man killed in the crash was identified as Shannon Scott Elmore.

The driver of the Jeep — a 45-year-old woman from Brookwood — was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa and was listed in stable condition early Wednesday morning.

The fatal crash remains under investigation.
