TPD Identifies Tuscaloosa Woman Struck And Killed On McFarland Boulevard
The Tuscaloosa Police Department on Tuesday identified a female pedestrian who was struck and killed on McFarland Boulevard East Monday.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The Tuscaloosa Police Department on Tuesday identified a female pedestrian who was struck and killed on McFarland Boulevard East early Monday morning.

TPD spokeswoman Stephanie Taylor said the victim was identified as 56-year-old Janithy Ann Campbell, 56, of Tuscaloosa.

As Patch previously reported, a motorist called 911 at 4:05 a.m. Monday morning to report the accident, telling officers he was driving east and unable to avoid striking the woman, who was walking in the middle lane of the busy highway.
Campbell was pronounced dead at the scene, which was on McFarland Boulevard East near Waffle House, Crunch Fitness and the area around Exit 73.
