Tuscaloosa Accepting Applications For Zoning Board Positions

The City of Tuscaloosa is accepting applications for two supernumerary seats on its Zoning Board of Adjustments

TUSCALOOSA, AL — The City of Tuscaloosa is accepting applications for two supernumerary seats on its Zoning Board of Adjustments, with terms ending Sept. 30, 2026, and Sept. 30, 2028.

The board, established in 1959, hears requests for special exceptions, authorizes variances from the city’s zoning ordinance and considers appeals of decisions made by the zoning officer.

Supernumerary members serve only when called upon in the absence of regular members but hold the same authority during those times.

Applicants must be city residents and available to attend monthly meetings, which are held the fourth Monday of each month at 5 p.m.

Training or experience with zoning ordinances or related fields is preferred.

Applications are due by 5 p.m. on Sept. 23 and can be submitted here.
