Tuscaloosa Council To Vote On 15-Year Partnership With Kentuck Festival
The 54th Kentuck Festival Of The Arts is set for Oct. 11-12.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox on Thursday announced that the City Council will soon vote on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that would secure a long-term partnership with Kentuck Art Center to continue hosting its annual arts festival in Tuscaloosa.

Maddox said the Sept. 9 council meeting will see city leaders vote on the MOU to ensure the festival is held at the newly renovated Snow Hinton Park for the next 15 years.

Maddox pointed out that more than 16,000 visitors attended last year's festival — the first of its kind held outside of Northport — and said having such a "culturally renowned" event in Tuscaloosa is a great source of pride for the city.

"Partnerships are what makes this city thrive," Maddox said in his weekly Mayor's Minute. "We're proud partners with Kentuck. We know that the future is going to be bright."
The 54th Kentuck Festival of the Arts is set for Oct. 11-12.
"I hope you'll join me in coming out and experiencing what an amazing venue and what an amazing event the Kentuck Arts Festival is," Maddox said.
