Tuscaloosa Councilor To Host Community Meeting On Proposed Sports Illustrated Resort
Norman Crow's community meeting will be on Oct. 8 from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Jasmine Room at Indian Hills Country Club.

TUSCALOOSA, AL — Tuscaloosa District 3 City Councilor Norman Crow will host a community meeting later this month to allow members of the community to provide feedback on the proposed Sports Illustrated Resort off Rice Mine Road.

"I want to make sure the concerns of residents are addressed when we have the public hearing on this on Oct. 15," Crow said.

Ahead of the public hearing, Crow's community meeting will be on Oct. 8 from 4:45 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in the Jasmine Room at Indian Hills Country Club.
Patch first reported in 2023 when Sports Hospitality Ventures and Travel + Leisure revealed that the first major Sports Illustrated Resorts college town destination was being planned for Tuscaloosa.

Dubbed the Sports Illustrated Resorts campus, developers initially planned to open the location on Rice Mine Road in late 2025.
Plans call for a full-service hotel, a vacation club, and residential condominiums.
