TCSO says scammers are posing as sheriff's office employees and directing victims to call back numbers that lead to a fake automated phone system.

The system then claims to connect callers with an investigator, who tells them they have missed jury duty or a court date and must pay to have the matter “dismissed” or “recalled.”
Officials once again stressed that the sheriff’s office will never contact anyone by phone about missed court appearances, jury duty issues or fines, and will never request payment over the phone.
