TFR told Tuscaloosa Patch units responded at 1:30 p.m. to the initial call of the fire at Waste Recycling Inc. at 2661 Elm Street.

The fire resulted in a large plume of black smoke visible from across the metropolitan area.
While no word has been given as to the extent of the damage or cause of the fire, TFR says no injuries have been reported at this time.
